Why not "996911GT3C4S" then you'd really throw them for a loop.

01 C4 Cab NYC hit the nail on the head, thanks
I'm very lucky that I can hit those speeds in my commute here or just cruise above triple mph digits, the traffic quality and quantity and the great highways here allow you to really enjoy 'em and the 996 and in this highspeed twisty enviroment is were I find the 996 really really shines above other cars, you can take the curves at incredible speeds and the brakes can hold a lot more highspeed punishment.

Bucket,

The stock carrera handles superbly at high speeds already but do you think the GT3 and GT2's have aerokits for aesthetics? No, in case of the GT3 aerokit, it means lift/bouyancy is reduced to 0, and front and rear downforce is increased appropiately... so it does corner better at highway speeds. For example, take this aerokit out from the GT3Cup and see what happens at the racetrack vs the other GT3Cups. But the difference is only evident at high speeds though.

I wouldn't install a tale just for looks even if they were giving them away in my case, it would screw up aerodinamics more than we think at these speeds, I would only install a performance intended windtunnel tested aerokit, hence the GT3 aerokit. Either that or leave it stock, for my use anyway, but if you cannot drive regularly at these speeds (say Orlando for example) then it wouldn't matter and its OK ti fit wigs for asthetical purposes, nothing wrong with that in that case.

The only downside/problem with installing the aerokit on a C2 or C4 in my opinion is that it may be confused with a GT3, so thats why you need to keep the "carrera" emblem on the back.

Bucket,

Its actually not a one shot photo, its a snapshot form a video I took, since there was nobody in the car, I did it myself with the camera on one hand and driving with the other. The video is at my website.

No engine mods, just 18" wheels and the RoWM030 sport suspension for greater stability and handling.

I reached 294km/h in that short straight before I had to brake for the curve (which is about 180 inmph), but its a speedo reading so its going to be a bit less than that in reality, so you are absolutely right about the 170ish top speed. Also the aerokit, though gives you greater downforce at thyose speeds, it does so at the expense of some top speed so it may have been a bit more without the aerokit.

320Kms is 200 mph, right? So he's going like 184? Love to know what, if any, mods he has going on in there - I thought top speed was 170-ish...
I saw the video last year and from what I could tell, it sure seemed like Carlos was filming and driving the car himself! I'd sure be interested in the real deal here.

I agree that he can put whatever he is pleased with. It is his car. He gets to do whatever he wishes. Heck, he can put GT1 if he wants.

I have no badge at all but I may put something in the future. Maybe "NINE ELEVEN" if I can find where I can get one. :-)

I also agree that he can put any badge on the car he likes, but HE ASKED. No one is telling him what to do, they are giving their opinion. He asked for opinions, not permission. Opinions were given and now jumper can do what he likes with those.

Ubergeek,

Looks like we have the same car. What year is it? What's on the back of yours? How about mods??

Mine's a 99 with factory aero, 19 in wheels, fabspeeds, rollbar and a few minor other items.

Vorland,

A GT3 with that ride height, rear wiper and sunroof!? No, don't think so.

Sabenza,

Get the real deal (GT3) or badge it with a Carrera badge.

Ciao,

Johannes E.
