I'm thinking about retrofitting my C2 with a Bluetooth Kit. I wanted to get some recommendations as to which Bluetooth Kit will work best with the Porsche's stock stereo system. Can any of you who have added a Bluetooth Kit to you Porsche please share your experience, and perhaps recommend a good Bluetooth Kit?
I use the Parrot CK3000 Bluetooth unit. It's a bit difficult and bulky to install but it is excellent in use. The only thing I would be wary of is the microphone. Best to buy a good one as the supplied one isn't that good.
The CK3000 works well with Nokia and Sony Ericsson bloototh enabled phones. So long as stero system has a phone mute line it works as expected.
There is an on/off hook switch to install too. I have my switch placed next to the dash switch behond my steering wheel. You can see it in the picture. Also note where I placed the microphone on the inside of the windscreen pillar near the sun visor.
2) Actually no. I have a pretty serious aftermarket stereo setup with a Nak. head unit. I'm using the separate speaker that comes with the kit. Didn't want to risk damaging my speakers if I didn't have to, and after hearing the supplied speaker, will keep it this way. Only time I have trouble hearing a call is on a noisy highway, with top down, and even then can usually hear enough. Microphone is from my previous Nokia kit and it works fine. I'm sure the S/E microphone would have worked fine if I didn't already have one.
