Default Please Help? Traffic Pro Installation on 996?

I got mine from Crutchfield yesterday. Installed it in my 02 Cab and replaced the CR-220. I do have upgrade BOSE sound system in my car from factory with BOSE Amp and Speakers.

Easy Install, remove the factory radio and unplug all cables in the back.

Install the GPS Antenna on passenger side Dash with clear view of the sky, run the wires underneath the glove box and onto the middle console.

Plug all the connectors back, however, run into few problems.

Problems run into:

1. No Sound at first - but I had to run a jumper cable from A-5 to C1-6, that is the cable for Amplifier Control. After I did that, Sounds works great.

2. Now I need to figure out how to run a cable from the reverse sensor...

Any ideas???

Radio, CD Changer and AMP are working great, but NAV still isn't working until I hook up the Reverse Sensing Wire to the Radio.

Do I run a cable to shifter boot and look for Reverse Sensor switch there and hook it up to it?

Did you already hook into the speed sensor? The only thing you need reverse for is if you can't get a signal and you back up. It should still work w/o it.

I finally get it to work. the GPS antenna was not working properly, actually had a cut in the cable when I was routing thru the dash...

Thanks for the response. I decided not to hook up the reverse sensor.

Check out this link...at the end there are pics of which wire you need to splice into...should only have to do this if you have DSP/Hifi

Hope this help,
Will

I currently have the CDR 220 w/o DSP and will be doing the TP installation next week. Is this a plug and play job with the stereo harness or will I also need to find and manually connect the reverse wire, GAL, etc? Thanks.

It is a simple plug and play. Only time you need to jump a wire is when you have a BOSE Amp in the trunk. You do need to run the GPS Antenna cable in the dash which is a little pain but not too bad.

On my 01 it is not plug and play...with the DSP/HiFi option, there is no GAL wire in the harness, nor is there a reverse wire. I had to add both of these wires to the harness - plus the wire remapping as mentioned above...

Maybe the newer models have those wires in place already......but not mine....
