Hello guys, I'm new to here. I have some problem with my remote key recently. the key signal just degradeing and it's hard to lock/unlock the car. first I thought it could be low battery. after I put in new battery and still the same. I clean up the transmitter and still the same. funny is that I found out if I only use remote without assemable with another half key, the signal strong enough to go through the wall. I was play with remote while change battery, when I tested remote by press the button - my car in garage are locked. but after I put them together, even I close to my window and still hard to lock/unlock. is that mean I need a new remote head? any input would be appreciated.
Second, they are notoriously sucky with regards to range. My 99 was the same way.I did clean the plastic halves of the remote, incuding the IR remote "window" and that helped. But yoou will just have to hold it up to your chin to get better range. I never found a way around it. Even my 02 C4S is lacking in range.
Good luck and I hope you know it is a new user requirement to post car pictures by your 5th post JK
When I complained to my dealers service manager, he said the system was very poor and he didnt know why porsche uses it. This is a problem porsche can resolve by improving the remote and security system. If everyone complains to their dealers maybe after time an improved system will be introduced. So; everybody go complain to Porsche.
