Default 2003 MOST no adapter for analog to digital for new.deck?

I'm stuck I think. Apparently according to Rod at CAI there is no MOST adapter to convert analog to digital?? The 2003 car is the first year of MOST and its killing me to go the amp route if not needed.

I also contacted Allen at CarNaviPlayer and he stated the same in an email:

Sorry, we do not have a product compatible with this car.

Best regards,

Has anyone done this on a 2003 996????

I'm banging my head on this challenge as well.
03 cab bose

I ordered Amazon 2 units that I'll update once I get a chance. They are due in this week.

The seller claims the units will work.

1. Black unit - plug and play based on connector
2. Blue unit - you take the fiber cables out from your connector and put it in the blue box.

These units will be delivered this week so I'll keep this thread going with updates.

Here's the seller and the link to both the blue and black unit.

Ok. Live update:
1. Black unit cuts out at 10 seconds.
2. BLUE UNIT WORKS 100% !!!

****This thread should be a sticky for this challenge we all will face specifically with a 2003 MOST Bose setup.****

There are so many threads and posts throughout many online communities. And this is the solution. Hooked up with a Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX.
I might even buy 10 of these units to help fellow members who need this before they stop selling them on Amazon.

No noise no feedback.

Good deal! Keep us updated on the longevity of the analog-to-MOST box. Seems like a lot of reports of problems with noise and reliability issues over the years.

Also, please share a link to the "blue box". Thanks!

The link to the blue box I posted in the prior post. But with Amazon sellers buy them now who knows how long they will last on the shelves!

I'm almost done installing just took a break. I'll post the completed setup once I'm done.

Default All good! It works!

Ok this unit has been playing in my garage in the car for hours. The blue box worked 100%

The unit which is shown below, states 2004 and up..well proved that wrong. Mines as you all read is a 2003.

The deck I got (DMH-W2770NEX) is wireless Android/Apple play. So cool no wires!!!

...now onto swapping speakers. These BOSE ones can't handle the power of the deck. Lol

Be warned: The blue box only gives 2 channel out so no fading. This is a good solution for a new deck without getting a new amp and rewiring.

I think the lucky lady bug I found on my driver's door when I first started the project this morning brought me luck!

Default Thank you

Great info !
I kept being told it can’t be done .

i have the blue box in my cart ready to order.
Are you hooking up a reverse camera ?
But thinking that really has nothing to do with the now installed system.
And guessing you also had to purchase an antenna adaptor ?

tnks

It can be done just proved it
Buy it! Lol

I bought an antenna booster and yes I have rear camera. The camera is just for the radio, nothing to do with the MOST system.

That looks like a lot of custom wiring, but is it?

I'm looking for something virtually plug-and-play.

No sir. It was all plug and play. I just used isolated 12v to run the MOST adapter to let it run in my garage for a couple of hours before installing. I then used the proper adapter kit. In the end no splicing minus obtaining 12v, switched 12v and ground which I ran new 12v off the fuse box and tapped 12v off the old radio switched 12v.

The install was pretty straight forward actually.

Hey NewbieFromNY, just a couple questions for you...I'd PM you but I don't think the site lets me yet...

I am a true newbie who just got his hands on a 2003 996 Turbo. Can you confirm that for my model year, I have the Bose/MOST system? And, to confirm, in order to switch my head unit out with a different one and have it still work with the oem stereo system, I need the blue box you link above? Is that correct?

I want to get one of the AliExpress PCCM clones and its quite confusing as far as exactly what it is I need for an install. The seller offers a "Bose Fiber Optic Box" but users here are saying it doesn't work. Thanks.

Heh, editing to note that after I posted this I came across your argument against the sadocom stuff and yeah I mean I pretty much agree with you. I'm now conflicted between going with an pioneer with wireless android auto or the sadocom mostly for the oem-ish look. Still, my original questions remain. Thanks!

First welcome to the fun.
i wont know if your system is Bose but if there are bose labels on you door speakers that's a clear indication.
You can also check and see in the trunk if you have the bose Amp, without pulling out the deck. I'm sure others will chime in with other clear signs if your car is Bose or not.

Regarding the adapter there are two. I bought the black one and the blue one.

The black one cut out audio exactly 10 seconds. I hooked up the blue one as you can see in my pics and worked perfectly. Keep in mind the fade will not work on any aftermarket deck and your sub doesn't pull as hard.

Pm sent btw.
