Thanks very much for the feedback, we'll add wording to clarify and add the following links. Many popular radar detector brands have third party manufacturers who make adapters with the 2 GoPro knuckles that will fit into the RoadSpy's 3 knuckles. Here are a couple I've tried, we'll add more to the list once I've tested them out. If there's an adapter that you need which isn't available for your detector from a popular brand like Uniden/Escort/Passport, please LMK and I can design one, chances are others out there will need it too.

Only need the bottom portion of this one (may need a 1" riser as well)

Thank you for the feedback, I'll add wording and the links below to clarify it. There are 3rd party manufacturers that make GoPro-style adapters for the most popular radar detectors (Uniden, Escort, Passport). Here's a few I've tried:

Use the bottom piece only. Use a 1" riser if radar detector needs to drop down to clear your mirror.:

Uniden R1, R2, R3, R4, R6, R7, R8, R9, LRD300, LRD350, LRD400, LRD450, LRD500, LRD550, LRD600, LRD650, LRD700, LRD750, LRD800, LRD850, LRD900, LRD937, LRD950, LRD6199 SW, LRD6499 SW, DF1, DFR2, DFR3, DFR4, DFR5, DFR6, DFR7, DFR8, DFR9. Looks good, I want to order, but would like to confirm something: it looks like the bottom end of the unit is at a similar height to the base of the rear view mirror. Just want to confirm that a radar detector would actually be able to fit, and not hit the mirror.

I have a Uniden so would likely need to purchase the adaptor that you linked above. However this adaptor looks a lot different to the sample radar detector pic that you have (which seems to "drop down" a lot more)

You may need a riser to clear the bottom edge and dimmer tab of the mirror. Since we took that sample radar detector pic I found one I like a lot better. Plus it's a clean look. This comes in a set of short and long and I like these because they have the correct thickness of the GoPro knuckles and are made from aluminum.

I’m looking at the RS2 but my car has a rain sensor, would I need a RS1 or RS2?

Thanks for the question because I realize I need to add some more information to our fit chart. The RS2 won't fit on any rear view mirror base from the mid-2000s that has the rain sensor/auto dimming, will only fit the manual dimming mirrors with the little tab. The model you'll need is the upcoming RS4 which is for all 997's and late 996's that had the auto rain/dim function. RS4 is due out this Fall. Is your 996 MY05?

UUUUgh I got one of these and somehow dropped 2 of the little screws while installing. I have NO IDEA where they went! Used a flashlight and magnet to try and locate them. Just a heads up use a towel or tray just in case you drop one (or 2) to catch them if they fall. Must of gotten into the vents or something...
