Default questions about 996s

I might be getting a 02 or 03 996 next week

What is the warranty of a 03 996? Is it transferable?
Will a ppi find evidence if theres a RMS problem?

Thanks Guys

4 years or 60 K miles. The warranty comes with the car and not associated with the owner.
Servicing dealer should provide you with list of repairs and car history.

Basic new car factory warranty from Porsche is 4 years/50,000 miles (I think? Gery may be right). Yes, it's transferable - it goes with the car. There are also extended warranties, but I don't know as much about that -- if you're buying from a dealer, they have a Porsche Certified program to provide extended warranties on used cars, but I don't think they certify every used car they sell.

If RMS is leaking, the PPI should spot it, and it's covered as long as the car is under warranty. But that doesn't tell you if it leaked in the past (ask for service records), or if it will leak in the future (crystal ball?).

Good luck!
