Default Single DIN PCCM

Hi all!
New to the forum and ownership, thanks!
I would like to install the single DIN PCCM (non-plus) in my 02 C4 cab. Call me weird, but I kinda like the cute little screen, don't care about navi, and I want to avoid having to move the HVAC controls. I know there was an infamous red 996 on BAT from MI that had pics of it, has anyone else done it? If so is it pretty straight forward?

Thanks!
Chris

Thankfully, you have an analog system; otherwise, it won't work since the single DIN classic radio doesn't support MOST transfer bus. If your car has the frunk amplifier, then you might need the special OE adapter/harness. All OEM radios send line level output via the YELLOW plug from the becker radios. Good luck!

What did you to do mount the PCCM mounting bracket into the existing horseshoe bracket? How tough is it to relocate the cables for the climate controls?

it was tight, but the new mounting bracket slid into the hole where the old radio was. That's the beauty of the single din. I didn't have to relocate anything, just slide it into the slot where the old radio was

But the big question is did the radio need the special adapter from Porsche or did the radio by itself output the correct signal to the amp in the frunk?

What is it doing currently? Audio distorted? Too loud a lower volume settings? Or producing 60Hz hum?
