Yep, after weeks of researching and shopping I finally pulled the trigger on a beautiful Guards Red 2000 C2. Needless to say, I'lll be spending a lot of time with it over the next few days but I have a couple of quick questions.
First, it doesn't have a CD player and I am planning on adding one ASAP. I'd like to put a 10/12 disc changer that can play MP3 CD's in addition to normal CD audio. Does anyone have recommendations on a unit that works well with the stock Porsche radio? Also, I haven't looked yet but would it be pre-wired making it much easier to install?
Second, this particular car comes with the 4 tape holders below the radio. I'm thinking about just ordering the CD holders instead but since I'll have a CD changer in the trunk it really won't do me much good. Is there anything else that one can put in there? Even a blank plate may be more appealing.
Hey! Congratulations! Don't forget to post the obligatory pictures.
I'll be doing the same - just picked up my '03 C4S in Lapis Blue.
If you are going to fit a new CD why not go for a changer in the boot but a CD player that also has a slot in the cab - that's what mine has. That way you can put the classics in the slot and still be able to pick something difference while driving.
I really want to keep it as stock as possible so no new radio w/CD up front unless it's the stock Porsche one. I'm guessing it's cheaper to just add the CD changer though. Also, if the CD changer is compatible with MP3 audio format then I can put 150+ songs on one CD so I can literally put just about all my CD's onto 12 discs.
Does nobody have any aftermarket CD changer recommendations? I'm going to call a couple of stereo places but I'd rather have some suggestions that I know work rather than completely relying on what they have to say about it.
