I am seeking an engine protection plate for my 996. I was pointed towards Carnewel from another forum, Renntech.org. The problem is I'm in Hawaii and shipping a large metal plate from the UK will be disastrous. $100+ for the plate and ??? for shipping, triple? quadruple? more?? Who knows. Is there a vendor in the U.S. that carries something similar?

Carnewal is the best--I've bought stuff from him and had it shipped to me in the SF bay area, and shipping is fast and reasonably priced. Give Gert a try--see how much he charges to ship.

Why not check with your dealer?I have bought stuff from Gert and they are great!I just ordered The engine protection plate from the Dealer as the price was about the same as Gert.However Gert will be glad to quote you Delivery to HI. it might not be so bad.I don't think it is very heavy.

As mentioned, just email Gert and see what shipping would run to Hawaii. He is a terrific guy and customer service is superb!

If this is an OEM Porsche part, I know of a few good places on the mainland that could get the part for you at a better price than the Hawaii dealer that will work with you on shipping options. PM me if interested.

gert is great. I ordered sub bars on Thursday and they were at my home in the following Tuesday. Same thing for Pss9. just email the order questions and they will provide you with the shipping price. It is all FedEX
