Question Uneven tire wear?

In looking over my front tires' tread, I noticed that in both cases, the inside of the tire is wearing faster.... approaching the wear bars, while the outside has lots of tread. It is a smooth continuum from one edge to the other.

I run 35 lbs all around. I believe that these are the original front tires (23K miles) of which I've put on 6K miles myself. The rears have ~ 10K miles and show no unusual wear at all.

Is that normal wear for what I think is a standard alignment setup?

Would rotating the front tires from side to side be a good or bad idea? (I realize this would require unmounting and remounting to get the directionality right).

Thanks!
