996 Targa Chassis (Cab Or Coupe Based?)
The topic describes itself...
I'm a bit curious as there seems to be some mixed opinion about this
i was always under the impression that the 996 targa was based upon the cabriolet chassis, hence, making it a slightly stiffer (mabye) cabriolet with metal roof rails and a huge glass window for a roof.
however there seems to be some disagreement namely from targa owners
any 'experts' care to dispel the fog surrounding this issue?
either way this isnt intended as a bashing of the targa, its a magnificent car, loving the ingenuity of the roof, however, I would just like some closure on this debate.
thx gg

Targa - Frame Design
As Per (Franklin - Porsche Internal Design Team) Informs me that the 996 Tara's are based on the 996 Coupe design, not Cab - Now we have it from the horses mouth.... Thus far, 10K miles on my Tara and not as much as a peep from the roof or frame - solid as my morning erection...
