Default Recommendation for wheel paint

I am gettin a 2000 996 with the optional 18” Sport Classic silver wheels. I will need to repaint these and I am wondering if there is a good alternative to the Wurth silver spray paint. I understand that the Wurth is a very good color match but difficult to apply and expensive compared to other paints. I will be doing all four wheels so the color doesn’t need to be perfect. Also, the colored Porsche emblem wheel caps are also bad so where is the best place to buy new ones.

I'm not aware of another paint that works as well short of having something custom mixed.

Why is it hard to apply the paint? I hadn't heard that but would like to know what you have found. I will do mine at some point.

A lot of overspray requiring a mask and it tends to run.

Runs are not the "fault" of the paint, they're the result of trying to put too much paint on in one hit. Allow far more time for the painting process, ie an afternoon, rather than a "spare hour".
Apply several light coats of paint, allowing 30 minutes between coats (depending on the ambient temperature)
If it's cold, allow more time between coats, and again, if it's cold, use a heat gun on a low setting to help the light coats of paint to dry/flash off.
If your garage is dry and dust free, leave at least 24 hours between the final coat of paint and the lacquer and don't touch the paint with your fingers prior to applying the lacquer.
Once the lacquer has been applied, I'd allow several days before fitting the tires and putting the wheels back on the car and using it.

If all the above sounds too time consuming, have them restored professionally ....
