Question R turbo

I saw a very nice 996 today. It had "Rturbo" on the engine cover. What is this? Is it factory or some aftermarket tuner's version?

Depends...
It can be the 996 Turbo engine conversion which is starting out with a regular Porsche Turbo engine and having it then converted to RUF Rturbo specs which is i believe 520 hp up from 420 hp. If it was a RUF Rturbo it would have the full RUF works such as their website states. A RUF from the factory is it's own car carrying a RUF VIN # not a Porsche VIN. Anyone car to help explain it better? DCM if you do a "search" for Rturbo video i think you will find Adam T's red RUF Rturbo up against his families other RUF the CTR Yellowbird. Awesome vid of RUF's at play.
