Default Wing Adjustment?

This is how the previous owner had the wing adjusted. I want to bring it down a notch so that it sits flush. I want to do this for esthetics. I'm going to assume that I will reduce the ammount of down force on the car by doing so. For a beginer like me even at an autox or track day this will have no noticeable effect right?

Don't know, but wanted to say that car is beautiful in white. And, I'm a SD man originally myself from Carlsbad.

To move it back to the "street" position you will need to remove all four allen head screws and lift the wing up about 6 inches. Then move the adapter back down to the original position. If you or the previous owner still has the allen head screws (only use for stock position) then reinstall them for a more rigid fit. Then lower the wing and attach the screws with Loctite (important - otherwise they will vibrate out).
About a 5 minute job.

Stevo' 99 thanks for the compliment. Sometimes I feel like an outcast with the Glacier White & C4 combo. NOT! I see very few C4s on the road a even fewer in Glacier White. Don't know why it isn't more popular. Well I don't care cause I love it. I think its just as easy to care for as the Silver.

Loren, thanks for the Tech tip. I already moved it to the Street position. Easy as pie. However one of the allen bolts looks like a torque screw and doesn't sit completely flush. I need to try and find a new one.

I still am not sure about the actual effect of moving it to the "Street" position. Less down force right? I also don't understand why people are using the shims. I saw a thread about the rear wing being adjusted with shims??? The thread didn't specifically answer my question. However, I believe that my assumption is correct. I'll just go with it until someone on the board let's me know any different.

the reason you don't see more C4 coupes is that they were discontinued awhile ago,

not sure if it was 2001 or 2002, but definitely after 2002, since when the C4S (widebody) came out it was somewhat redundant.

Yes, less downforce at 70 plus MPH
Shims are used on the new (MY04-) GT3 wing not on this wing. This wing has 3 positions using the brackets that come with it. Street (flat), (mid show above), and full race (not recommended for the street).
