When I shift into 1st, 3rd and 5th and reverse the car will not go into gear and it feels as if its in neutral. 2nd, 4th and 6th are fine. Is this a cable problem?

 

Look under the car where the cables connect to the transmission, sounds like one of the cable housings pulled out of its holder (not uncommon). You can put it back where it belongs and zip tie it down as a “temporary” solution….
