Dash covers
My search for a good used 996 continues.
I found a midnight blue 99 C4 with all gizmos that I want,
16k miles, except for one thing: it has a grey interior
and a plastic grey dash. The dash is probably the biggest bother
because I find the reflection of the dash in the window
when sunny very distracting and annoying.
Is there anything one can do short of ripping the whole
dash out? Is it possible to have it recovered with black leather,
or some other type of covering for a reasonable amount?
Have it painted? I'd like to stay away from loose "carpet type"
covers.
So close...
Thanks, Jan

My standard reply is: .......Go to a hotrod meet ...
Quiz the hotrod guys as to who does their upholstery work. I still maintain these guys have the best and cheapest resources for upholstery, body and paint work.
I imagine you'll find a shop that will cover your plastic parts with leather or synthetic. These guys are phenominal. I've used a local hotrod shop for previous Lexus and my boat and discovered our local Porsche dealer uses the same shop and just upcharges the customer.
