winterizing
Hey All
This is the first winter with my 1999 996 C4, I am putting it in a storage unit for the next 4 month's as I cannot keep it in my garage. I do not have any electricity in the storage garage so I was thinking of pulling the battery from it and keeping it on the Ctek tender at home. Thoughts? also anything else I should be mindful of?
Thanks in advance
Jason

I'd also fill the tank to the top, and add the max recommended amount of Stabil.
Mix stabil with 3 or 4 gallons of fuel in a separate jug then poured in tank. Then fill the tank and drive it for at least 10 miles to get the stabil in the system. Stabil will keep fuel from oxidizing for 6 months +.
Your battery plan seems sound to me...

Change engine oil on a hot engine, let the engine run to circulate the fresh oil and store the car then with a hot engine and dry bodywork (and brakes!) Don't start it till you are ready to drive off, I.e. at the beginning of the new season.
Full tank of fuel, incl fuel stabilizer.
Either 50 psi in all 4 tyres or put the car on old tyres.
Some dessicant bags inside.
Those are the basics imo, others will add their Ritual.

Mice. Get the mouse traps with the yellow plastic paddles - don't need bait and put them with the business end butt up against the garage walls. Mice travel along the edges of the wall, so that is where the traps have to go. You may also use glue traps. Check weekly and replace as needed.
