Default PPI Advice on first 996

Hey all, I'm currently looking into this 996.1. She's about a 90 minute drive from me. I've spoken with the seller and he's offered his mechanic's contact info. I've gotten in touch with the mechanic, and the guy spent 30 min with me on the phone and said he'd be happy to do a PPI on the car for me. Put her up in the air and show me around. He's been servicing her for about a year now. The car's got 70k miles.

My question is this, do you all recommend having a separate Porsche shop do the PPI (there's an excellent one near the seller) to give me a more objective POV on the car. Or would you just have the mechanic do it? The Porsche shop said they would take roughly 4-5 hours with her, compared to the mechanic who would take around 2.

OP - Good hunting! My indie would refuse doing a PPI on a car he maintains. He says, ”Fresh eyes, fresh perspective.”

In other words you’re saying, go with the Porsche shop and get a fresh perspective.

Only if they have someone who’s been around 996 and 997.1/M96 motors.

It’s Renn Haus, which I’m pretty sure has handled a bunch of 996s. https://rennhaus.com
