Default New Seat Covers, where do we find them?

I am looking to have my seats re-covered,....looking to find the plaid fabric in the middles surrounded by leather look. When I went to my local shop the owner said it was incredibly hard to find companies making seat covers. Does anyone have any suggestions of companies?

I have a 996.2 Base TIP with the natural leather upgrade.

Thank you

Excellent leather material, oem quality (possibly better), matching colors, but pricy (current 25% sale): GAHH Automotive | Convertible Tops | Seat Upholstery | Carpet Kits

I just received an email from Pelican Parts for Coverking. Not sure if they have plaid inserts available. https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog...nuineFloorMats

I was at Rennsport and there were a couple of companies that had it on display,

Unless you are in a really tiny town there are probably upholstery shops you are not aware of . Ask around . Do you have a local car club ? They will know . I live in a town of 7500 and found a guy in the next town over which is even smaller . He did a phenomenal job on my plaid and leather seats .

Same here. I live in the mountains west of Denver and found a "mom & pop" upholstery shop in Englewood, CO about a half hour away. I had found bulk tartan heavyweight/upholstery grade material by the metre (it was from Wales) and took the fabric and the seats to the upholstery folks. They deconstructed my existing seats to make a pattern, then sewed on backing foam the same weight as Porsche original. They then sewed the tartan inserts into the seats using my old leather and reassembled everything. The seats look great! They turn heads and get compliments all the time. It was a very professional job that cost me around $1,200 ALL in, including the material (of which I ordered a bit too much).

Automotive upholstery work is a great craft and there are a lot of local small businesses around that will do great work at a reasonable price. I have zero regrets and will be doing our 986 in the coming months.
