Hi friends, my porsche 996 have a ticking in the right side of the engine, this noise is in ralenti, with more rpm the ticking dissapear, I changed the oil presure release valve and the problem persist.

​​​@Faustino I think you might not be getting answers simply because you'll need to do diagnosis in detail. You can use a stethoscope thing to identify exactly where the noise is coming from. It could be water pump, it could be a lifter, there's just not easy answer I'm afraid. I will say that when I got my 996 1 I had a slight ticking from the passenger side as well but I changed the oil and at the same time added some ceratec, the problem went away. I've no idea how that the extra additive would help, it may have just been the oil change. To say an additive will help an engine is simplistic and optimistic I'm afraid.
