Recently after a spirited drive and letting the car (2004 C4S 50k miles) sit in the garage, I noticed a small puddle under the front of the driver's side front tire that had the unmistakable odor of coolant.
So, as one might do, I checked the coolant level in the overflow tank, it was fine, a tiny bit low but I topped it off. I went for a very spirited drive, got everything to to temp, did a couple runs all the way up to redline.
Got back to the garage. Got the fender liner off and no coolant leaking from anywhere. only a very slight smell of coolant. the radiator and hoses were all hot to the touch but dry as a bone.
Wondering what my next step should be? Repeat the test but drive it even harder? Ignore it? Replace something I'm not seeing.
Any usual culprits stand out in here this picture?
Invest in a pressure tester for the cooling system.
Last coolant flush was about 6 months ago. I used an airlift 2 and the cooling system held a vacuum fine for several minutes. So the leak is very new or very small.
I'm going to try to see if I can reproduce the leak before draining the coolant and pressure testing.
