Default Selling My 1999 C4 Cabriolet

Due to an unfortunate confluence of events, I will be selling my 996. '
I simply do not have the time to properly care for the car. Not having a garage exacerbates the problem. It's time to pass the car along.

I'm essentially the 2nd owner, 2 brothers from CT bought the car new in 1999, and have all service records from new plus the window sticker. The car now has ~43k miles

I've addressed a number of issues and I've know of a couple that still need to be dealt with:
  • Things that have been addressed:
    • replace brake booster, brake master cylinder, brake light switch, coolant expansion tank
    • new rotors, pads, wear sensors
    • FSI Stage I
      • 3.4l to 3.6l
      • CP pistons
      • dynamic race-level balancing
      • high performance ignition coils
      • clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing
      • water pump
      • IMS Solution
    • UAOS (working with Skip on warning light issue)
    • new engine mounts, transmission mount, engine oil level sensor, and clutch slave cylinder
    • new front seat belt buckles (ABS light)
    • Antigravity model AG-H6-40-RS 1500 CCA
    • New Summer tires, winter tires have 3 seasons on them
  • Remaining issues:
    • 4-wheel alignment needed
    • HVAC Foam
    • bump stops disintegrating
    • refresh suspension
I plan to get the wheel alignment done but I'm thinking of leaving the suspension related issues for the next owner (I'm not having any problems that I know. The top is in good condition and everything works.

I would like to get $35k. Do you think this is reasonable?

John

John,
Looks like you have addressed all the issues, so $35K seems fair. We all have the damn foam problem. Post some pictures. Are you a CVR PCA member? We have a coffee run coming up July 8.

From all the work you've had done, 35k seems like a steal. Is the body/interior in good shape..?

Why sell a sorted out 996 like you've got..? Very possibly car will be worth lots more in the not so distance future with the FSI upgraded engine.
