Budget seats
I'm a fatty. 6-1' and 240lbs. I'm not comfortable in my sport seats. I feel like a bowling ball on a golf T. so I'm going to try some budget seats for a while as I concentrate on my engine. I've been looking at NRG, Bride etc. Does anyone have anything good to say about any of the budget seats? Thanks

What are you looking to spend? I believe a Sparco L would work for you.

I installed Recaro SR2 seats... all-in for a pair of seats, sliders, rails etc was less than 1 GT3 seat. Can probably make money selling the Sport Seats to offset the entire cost of these "budget seats"

My buddy put nrg seats in his mustange for ax. He really likes them but they still dont hold u like my recaros. They r easier to get out of though.

I'm also looking at budget seat options, but primarily to get more headroom. At 6'3" I brush the ceiling as is, with a helmet I have to recline substantially.
In that vein, does anyone have experience with Braum seats? The car may see a few track events but I still want to use the back seats occasionally, so I'm exclusively looking at reclining seat options.

A couple of years ago I installed Braum seats in a C4 Millennial Edition for someone and they were pretty nice.
I sold the owner some Planted mounts I had hanging around in case I decided to install new seats into my 996.
I'm still using the original seats in mine.

Thanks, did the seat seem any lower than stock? I'm also considering Corbeau A4 seats since I can order them with thinner bottom padding for a lower height.

But I think that the height difference was minimal using the Planted mounts and some some sliders I had on hand.
The customer was told that everything he needed to install them was included.
But they expected him (me) to disassemble the factory seats and somehow reuse the Porsche factory seat base & sliders.
Instead I sold him what he needed.
He lucked out (how many places have those parts in stock?) or else he would have had to wait a lot longer than he expected.
The install took about an hour or so.

I am interested in installing an aftermarket seat, most likely a Recaro. What changes need to be made to the car? Does it affect the airbag system? I understand leaving the seatbelt connector and related wires, are there any other considerations? My car is a 99 with power seats and memory settings.
Thanks in advance,
Mark
