Default Michelin CrossClimate on 996

Hi everyone!
Did somebody tried Michelin CrossClimate on 996 c2?
Where I live there is no big snow in winter, so I’m asking if it could be a good option instead having a winter set.
Thank you!

The continental dws06 is very good up to 2 inches as well as Michelin AS 4s
I think the continental is better the deeper the snow Ouse both my Porsche is on Mich and my Audi on continental

The crossclimate are good in bad weather but less in warmer spirited driving

I have Michelin X-ice on a car, and have noticed their description is accurate, its a cold weather tire. They give you a treadwear number, they say they are ok for general warm weather driving, but in weather above 55F they definitely lose traction.

The DWS06 I've used on BMW's and love the tire. It tolerates abuse and doesn't give up much in any conditions, especially up here in the Pacific North Wet with our long cool winters..

Thank you for tour suggestions.
However here in Italy Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and Continental DWS seems not available.
Only 4 Season option is Crossclimate and I’m pretty doubtful about that.
I will ask if in some way I can buy A/S or DWs, otherwise the best thing is to continue with N rated summit tyres also in winter.

Is the Cross Contact a "P" rated tire? If not you're going to die in a ball of fire tumbling down a mountain side.

See 3:52 and 8:28. The crossclimate 2 is 95% a snow tire and 95% an all season tire. It is designed to be on the car 100% of the time. I have a set on our Subaru Impreza. Great tire. Quiet, comfortable, good grip. Not as good as x-ice3 in the winter, but good enough for what I use the car for.

If you have summer tires for your 996, the crossclimate is a less-than-ideal choice for a winter tire. If it is the only tire available, it will do.

That’s a good point of view!
However the problem isn’t “N” mark on the tyres, but the fact that CrossClimate seems not adequate on a 911.

It would be a compromise.
Here where I live in winter is not too cold or snowy and you really don’t need a winter set.
However in some roads or highways during winter you must use winter tyres or have snow chains on board (that’s the law). That’s why CrossClimate would be a good solution for all the year.
I had Michelin CrossClimate on my old BMW and they were great, but was a total different car.
Still not sure to put CrossClimate on a 911, I will think about.

Default Yes

I just bought a set of Cross Climate 2s; awesome tire; bought for year round application, especially for winter ski conditions. I know there is some performance compromise but overall, for me and my needs, these are the best option…cheers
