Default jacking up the 996: front

i searched and can only find threads about jacking up the rear, but is there a way to jack up the front of the car?

like if i drove the front wheels up on wood blocks, i could slide a jack underneath and jack the front up so i wouldnt have to run around and jack up each side individually.

thanks

Robert

Robert:

You could jack one side of the front high enough that the other side will leave the ground and put a jack stand underneath it.

I usually put a jack-stand under the front control arm, which is the same process I performed on my 993 for several years. It seems to work fine with no damage. If anyone disagrees, let me know... thanks.

You gotta jack each side seperately, there is no "center position" (like there is in the back of the car), where you can lift both sides of the car at the same time. I use two jacks.

Good advise. Never trust a jack if you are going to put any body part under a car. I will also sometimes also put a wheel that has been removed under the car since if all else fails the wheel is larger than my chest.

There is a jack stand in my picture but it is hard to see since the floor jack is in the way. I put it there on Alex's turbo. I also leave the jack in place even if the car is on stands and that is why you cannot see the stand very well in the pic as it blocked by the floor jack.

Here is what I do:
I drive my car up a set of Rhino ramps. If I have to take the wheel off I can easily jack up the car from there and remove the ramp.
