Hey guys my grey front seats the vinyl is shot . So I plan to visit a few local interior restoration shops for some quotes. My interior is grey with a black exterior . I plan to add some red highlights both interior and exterior . So far changed shifter boot to black with red stitching . Plan on red exterior mirrors and some mild red graphics .

She is a 99 C4 and I like the old school look . I think the material linked below is the look I am after for the seat centers . I would do front and back seats . I think it is subtle but stands out enough to break up the sea of grey . The rest of the seats would be grey or black . How do you think it would look ?

I believe this is called clark plaid and it was originally used for Volkswagen GTI interior

you can find lots of shots of GTI with this interior if you google "clark plaid"

VW used some (IMHO) absolutely fantastic fabrics in the 80's - 90's interiors. I approve of your '84 GTi fabric choice.
Recaro Ultraviolet is one of my favorites. Random image from Google. I have these seats in one of my cars; no pictures handy.

Yeah back in the day I had a 16v Jetta GLI that had some sweet Recaro seats . I guess that's what sold me on the idea of the cloth centers .

Vinyl? Doubtful on the seats, but who knows…I know Porsche did use vinyl on the dash, door cards etc. unless you paid a steep premium for the “full leather” interior. Either way the fabric centers do look nice on the seats. Do post pics when they’re done! 😃👍

There is no option code on the trunk sticker that indicates leather interior . So I assumed vinyl ( maybe incorrectly ) . Did all 1999 standard seats have leather ?

They are all leather. Not Connolly hides, but a bonded leather, at least on the standard seats. https://buyleatheronline.com/en/blog...%20over%20time.
