Default 996 Exhaust Tips

I'm looking at replacing the exhaust tips on my 98 C2 Aerokit Car.

They are currently an aftermarket 4 inch tip that I'm totally in love with..

I was wondering if anyone could show me some pics of their setup.

It would be greatly appreciated.

I'm partial to the "big oval" factory option for pre-facelift 996, also referred to as "EP4110" as that is stamped on the bottom of the tips. They seem to be the largest single-opening exhaust tip that was an OEM option and they fill the opening very tightly and follow the curve of the rear bumper.

I have to agree , they look aggressive but still classic . But I am biased as I recently added them to my C4 .

What wheels are these and do you know if they are stock or have been modified? Are they Champion?

I’m aware that the .1 and .2 exhaust tips have different length pipes, making these tips not a bolt-on part for the .2 car. But does anyone know if there is a way to Frankenstein the EP4110 tip onto a .2 pipe, or would that require welding?

The .1 and .2 tips are slightly different design. The .1 car is thinner metal vs .2 and the attachment point to the pipe is different I believe. I know the .2 tips have a more oval pipe ending that accepts the tips and uses a single bolt from the bottom to secure it. Here are mine on a .2 car. They are temporarily wrapped in matte black while I experiment with a new finish.

The EP4110 tip is a single piece, so if needed to be extended to fit a .2 then welding would definitely be necessary.

Another vote for the optional OEM 996.1 SS exhaust tips, very good fit and finish, cheers...

Any thoughts on quads or the pseudo quad C4S style for .1s? I’m only seeing FVD options…

Not wishing to offend anyone that has them, but quads don’t really suit the narrow body cars IMO (though they look better on a 996.2 than .1) Personally I think they’re far better suited to wider rear end of the Turbo/C4S cars.

The only nicely and properly engineered upgrade tips for the 996.1 cars are the previously mentioned Tequipment EP4110 big ovals which are perfectly sculpted to suit the 996.1 bumper cutouts.

It doesn't appear that any of the quad tips were designed for the narrow body .1

From the Tequipment catalog:

They are a 3 piece Cargraphic Racing wheel
18 x 8.5
18 x 11
