Default 2002 or a 2003? built date question???

Hi,

Based on my VIN number, it is a 2002 C2, but the built date is 09/2002, which normally I would say it is a 2002.

But now I am thinking about upgrading the stereo toa traffic pro or a PCM and everywhere it says for vehicles built after 8/02 uses MOST bus... I am confused.

Anyone knows what I have?

My current setup is upgraded HiFI Bose Sound System with CDR220 and BOSE Amp and 6 Disc Changer in the front trunk as well as Bose speakers..

Any info would be appreciated...

thanks

I would think a 9/02 build car is a MY03. The model year cut over is typically August, and in many years a month or 2 before (my MY04 Carrera was built 7/03, for example). The digit in the VIN before the "S" is the year. MOST started in MY03 as far as I know. A sure way to tell is to see which CD changer you have--CDC-4 is MOST based.

In 99, Porsche took August for vacations and retooled the lines for the next model year. So 7/99 is a 99. There's no 8/99 builds. Then 9/99 is an 00.I was under the impression that it was always this way...

if you have the CDR-220, then you have an 02. got shafted on the model year / equipment.

the CDR-220 is analog, where as in 2003 model years, they made everything fiber optic with the CDR-23.
