Default Tire Sizes?

I was given a set of tires and not sure if they are OK for my 1999 Porsche 996 C4. They are 225/40ZR18 (Front) and 275/35ZR18 (Rear). Can they be used?

Thanks. I was hoping that was the answer since they have good tread.

You have to use Rims with the right Offset.

You can go 285/30-18 if you want...

By offset I assume you mean something other than bolt pattern but rather how far the rims come out from the hub. What is the right offset? or is that dependent on fitting into the wheel well?
