Another seat electrical connection question
When I removed the seat switch from my 996, there was a brown and red wire that went into the connector that ties seat to car. It’s the one electrical connection I had to disconnect to get seat out of car.
Besides the main connection that was released above, there are three other wires that feed into this connector, red, brown and black. I popped out the red and brown wires to allow
me to remove switch. I just got new switch which has that connector the red and brown wires go into. I’m now guessing the black wire some how disconnect from this connector. Hopefully the pictures help. Anyone know how to disconnect black wire? If not, I will have to popped red and brown out of the new connector and put into existing. The first picture is new connector. Second is existing. Black is the wire I am trying to figure out how to remove. Is there a clip? Thanks

sorry I can't be of specific help. But I removed my driver's seat recently. In addition to the main connector for the seat adjustments, you also have to remove two wiring harnesses connected to the seat memory module, which involves loosening two gold phillips head screws, snipping a zip tie, and unclipping the two wiring-harness-pigtails from the seat memory module.
Maybe that is where you are confused?

That black wire must go to these connectors in the picture below. I’m guessing it disconnects and slides out. I just didn’t notice a tab. I’ll look again tonight.
The red and brown wires go to the two pins on the left side. The black wire(s) feeds that stuff to the right.

Lookie, lookie, seems like there might be a tab. Maybe that’s the release.

Cut the zip tie and remove a cover next to the green insert plug in your old connector. Then slide out the green and black inserts. Slide the inserts into your new plug and reinstall the cap.

Thanks. Should I expect a wrestling match or just slide out?

There is a small plate clip on the end of the housing. It will slide back toward the wire and come off. Then the green plug (seat belt wiring) can be slid out the end of the connector.

I found the 997 seat replacement but didn’t see a picture that relates. I am assuming this tab next to my thumb has to slide to wires. It won’t budge. I could force it but I think it would break.

Job done, seat works.
Thanks everyone for the help. I would be working on that, breaking things for months without. Hatchet, the pictures saved the day.
The big things I learned:
Don’t pull two wires (red and brown) from main connector. Disconnect the black wire with green connector by sliding side plastic tab towards wire until it pops off. Slide both green connector out and other other connector next to it (whether used or not, it lines connectors up and holds them in place).
New switch comes with main connector and red snd brown wires are connected. Put green connector and other connector in new main and slide plastic cover back on to hold in place.
