Angry 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera Recall!!!

I just received a letter from Porsche stating that my 2003 911 has been recalled. Anyone got this letter yet?

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 04V070000

Component: SEATS

Potential Number Of Units Affected : 1805

Summary:
CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FITTED WITH FRONT SEAT BACKS, WHICH DO NOT MEET PORSCHE'S STRENGTH STANDARDS.

Consequence:
IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH, THE SEATS COULD TWIST, TILTING ON ONE SIDE TO THE REAR, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY TO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANT.

Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE BOTH THE FRONT SEATS. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT PORSCHE AT 1-800-545-8039.

I wonder if you got the recall, would the dealer let you upgrade to sport seats and if so I wonder how much????

I recently squawked my way into a new top on the Boxster S under warranty. My buyer for the car was hoping I would change it to black from grey and I asked the dealer and got a fast "no way" (I have a long relationship with the dealer and think they would have done it if they could), but I think PCNA sent them the top (as they probably would with your seats) and no changes allowed. I would guess your dealer would have to take the replacement seats into their inventory and separately order sport seats, something they probably would rather not do. But you never know til you try - good luck.
