The drivers side door of my 99 996 Cab has developed a creak or a skritch skritch sound coming from the latch area of the door when I drive over uneven surfaces. It's not a rattle or squeek, it is a rubbing sound. I took it to the dealer and they said, "no problem...just a door latch out of adjustment." Well, day after their "no problem fix" the skritch skritch is back.

Anyone experienced this?

Try spraying some light oil or silicon spray directly into the latch mechanism.

It is such an involved process when anything needs adjustment on P-cars that I sometimes forget that some good old lubin' will do the trick. It seems to be working for the time being.

Now if I could just spray some silicone on my exhaust and get that PSE sound.........
