Default Camshafts...

Hello, I´ve seen some places selling "sport" camshafts. FVD and Techart has them... what is the gain with it ? Remap needed?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Conrado

I´ve heard very good things about FVD cams. Two owners I know have done it, and they said the difference was very noticeble, they didn´t know each other, but both were very impressed with power from 4500rpm up. This must be one of the best way to upgrade the power on the 3.4L engine, a remap is needed. How´s your 996 doing?

Hey Man! How're doing ?

Well, I miss my boxster, but the 996 is a fantastic car. So far I've added Litronics, clear tails, roll bar, yellow seat belts, 18 turbo wheels, pss9, and some other carbon stuff. The car is now NICE...
I've purchased this camshafts cheap at ebay now I need to install. Techart people told me I need to remap... Do I need to do that to RUN the car or to GAIN the camshafts benefits ???

When you're coming to Brazil again ?

I might be in S.Paulo next week to see and ride on the new 500Hp RS4 beast from Nino
Junior has put the 450Hp on his RS4 too, so those guys are really having a blast right now, but Junior told me that Nino´s car is amazing, and he will be making the 500Hp on his car too.

Lots of great mods you have in your car, how did you like the Pss9 , are they really great?
You can run the car with the ECU you have right now, and I´m sure you´ll notice the difference even like this, but in order to take 100% advantage of the cams , I heard that a new remap is adviceble. If you can drop a new set of headers and sport intake from FVD too that would be great, because those parts working together with the cams, the improvment would be significant. Let me know the result after the cams are in, I´m very curious about this mod. How´s your tuned S4, how many HP is making your engine right now?

Nino and Junior cars are now at 525hps, wth movit brakes, but junior has 19" and 6piston brakes on his ride... Those cars are amazing!!!
About the PSS-9 I shall be getting them in a month. I've purchased with Gert, a very nice person!!
My S4 is now at around 370hps... not bad!
And if you come to Sao Paulo, let's meet! I'll talk to Nino today!

Regards,
Conrado

370Hp is a lot for an S4 How´s the power compared to the 996? Can the 996 keep up the pace? Porsche is lighter so it should be a close call.

I´ll speak to Nino to let him know exactly the date of my arrival, but will be there only two days, so we wont have much time, anyway it´s always worth it to be with you guys, even only for an afternoon
