Default Xenon headlight ballast fault

What are the typical symptoms of a failing ballast? My headlight will ignite, and the beam will come on as normal, but will shut off after a few minutes. Bad ballast?
TIA

I hope so, because I just bought 2 new ballasts (the seals around my headlamps were worn and water got back there and rusted the ballast cases). I have the exact some symptom on one of my lamps.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity to upgrade to the Retrofit kit that includes ballasts

I just had the same exact issue you are describing last week. I bought a used ballast off ebay for $80 (it was actually an audi part number even though the listing had the porsche part number listed). I just installed it and it fixed my issue and my low beams stay on now.

80 bucks??! If anyone needs a ballast I can give you a much better price. I retrofit these for customers and I'm accumulating lots of old parts!

OK. I thought for a sec they came with the kit. I bought a pair of new ballasts from the Far East, and will use those. But good to know cheap replacements can be sourced.

Hello playswithcars. THe post is a couple of years old, but I need 1 ballast for a 996.2 litronics.

If you have one to sell, can you give me a price to ship to 30542?

Feel free to p.m.

I did the retrofitlab upgrade too and love it but got a bad bulb or installed it wrong and burned the connector.

Thanks,
