15 inch wheels on a 996
hey gents, i need a little assistance with my project.. ill lay it out.
long story short, im building a 996 stage rally car for gravel compitition here in the US, and i need to fit 15 inch wheels on it, but as you know that is not a direct fit..
anyone know if the early boxter brakes will fit to make the clearance? or of any other way short of swapping to mitsubishi evo bits down under
cheers guys

Have no idea how to accomplish what you're asking but.... YOU ARE A BOSS - good luck and please share the build.

I think you are going to struggle to find satisfactory brakes that fit under 15" wheels. I also think what ever you do find will need to be totally custom fit. Is your desire for 15"s because of tire size or is it a mandate from the group you are rallying with? If it's just for tires, I would try really hard to find some 17" tires you like and keep the stock brakes. I doubt you will find anything Porsche that will bolt up easily and fit 15"s I believe the last car Porsche made that could fit 15"s was the '89 944 NA, 951s even require 16"s. I know people swap 996 calipers onto some 3 series BMWs, e46s I think, so maybe you could swap the other way? I don't know that those will be small enough though.
Also, what kind of 15" rims are you looking at? There aren't a lot of options for 5x130 15" rims without going custom and most are very narrow.
Good luck with the build and definitely post up some pics.

they would be custom wheels from my friend paul from BRAID usa, he has always been my provider over the years the big issue is finding 17 inch gravel tyres, and 16's are even rarer, and we would be using two full sets per event at least... doing a reverse swap to one of the car's brakes you mentioned curretnly seems like the most realistic option. thanks mate

Is it at all an option to fit brakes from a 3.2?

If you can find 16" tires, that would make your life much easier, as you can run base boxster brakes
