Default 2-piece BBS Sport Design wheels - gasket?

I have two Sport Design wheels with minor curb rash on the wheel lip, the painted center portion is fine. I have made an appointment to have them repaired. The wheel repair company intends to separate the two halves, repair the rim lips, then put them back together.

In chatting with a gentleman (unrelated to the wheel repair shop) yesterday, he mentioned that there may be a gasket between the wheel and the wheel rim, and to be sure that the shop knows this, to ensure that they put a gasket back in place when they reassemble the wheel.

Can anyone here confirm if in fact there is a gasket between the two halves of a BBS Sport Design wheel?

Thanks.

I've had 3 sets taken apart and haven't seen a "gasket". Either they don't have one or they all had been previously removed? which seems unlikely

I just took my 2 halves apart to clean and recondition them. They have never been apart and I owned them since new in 2001. There is no gasket or sign of any.

I don't have any experience with Sport Designs but I've done several sets of two piece BBS wheels and have never had a gasket. Even the three piece RS doesn't have a gasket (just a sealant).

Some BBS wheels do have gasket, but not the Sport Design wheels. Those are a two-piece wheel and the lip/barrel are one piece and the face is the other part.

The wheel itself is one piece. Gaskets are used when wheels are 2 piece.

You meant to say the "barrel" the wheel comprises all pieces. So the sport design wheel is 2 piece. SOME barrels are also 2 pieces but not sport designs.

one piece barrel. Doesn't need a gasket because the barrel doesn't separate and it doesn't need to be sealed.
