Is there a trick? Do you have to have the top down to pull off the visor anchor?
I have the dash quite dismantled and I can’t quite pull it out of position without removing that trim. But I can’t really easily put the top down because I have the whole dash stripped out.
99.9% you just need to yank harder than you want to. I know that is the opposite of everything else on a Porsche, but I do think that is the case here. Worst comes to worst, I have some A-pillar trim I could sell you cheap.
I have the battery disconnected because I’ve pulled the airbags. I think I’m going to reconnect it and deal with any airbag codes that might get thrown. I’ve got a durametric so I think I can clear any airbag codes that pop.
The service manual doesn't say anything about removing the A-pillar trim to get the dash out.
It does say for the Cab A-pillar trim,
step 1. remove the cover for the top corner fitting (2 screws)
step 2. Pull the trim inward toward the center of the car, there are 2 spring clips
step 3. pull trim upwards out of the dash.
No mention if top is up or down for this.
Definitely had to lower the top to get the visors out, which allowed me to get the a pillar trim out and definitely needed the trim out to remove the dash.
