I just noticed my 996 clutch makes a "creaking" noise when the clutch pedal is depressed and released. The gears seem to engage properly...

The sound comes from the clutch area of engine compartment and is quite noticible

Any thoughts as to what this could be? The 2002 car only has 25,000 km on it

I had the same problem in my Boxster. I thought that it just needed lubrication. They ended up replacing the spring under warranty.

 

I had the same problem on my '99 C2. Apparently there's a TSB about it because the dealer's service manager knew exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned it to him.
