Default Justification for getting a Porsche

After a considerable search, I found a 99 cab with the right color and options. It's our 3rd car but lately, it's the one being used the most After several years driving an SUV, the Porsche is now my wife's daily driver and she doesn't mind the 6 speed at all. In fact, she loves shifting it.

What is even funnier is that our kids are happy in the backseat. There is no need for DVD players, radio, car seat, toys, etc. My wife said there is not even a sound from the rear seat. While my girl loves the wind in her face and hair, my boy loves the exhaust note and engine. It is probably one of the best kid "management tool" around. Don't want to do homework, no problem but no Porsche. Homework done in a minute!

I had predicted the effect the Porsche will have on kids just by watching the Porsche commercial where the teenager would ask dad to drive her to school since she "missed" the bus but until I lived it, I didn't believe it 100%. They'll make every excuse to have us take the Porsche for a drive.

As for my wife, that is the best part. Say goodbye to Levitra, Viagra, Cialis, etc.

Porsche. There is really no substitute

We were convinced to get a Cayenne S for my wife after reading the Porsche ad - "Do you really need 450 hp to pick up diapers? You ever run out of diapers?" (Had to settle for 340 hp to stay in budget.)

There is no justification for getting a Porsche, the Porsche is the justification.

I really liked that commercial. My daughter just turned 2 on March 24th... I ask her "what kind of car does daddy drive?" and she says "POR-SHA" really loud... it's the best. My wife rolls her eyes every time I do it... can't wait until she's old enough to take long rides with me with the top down.

I hadn't thought of that - I will start teaching my 2 y/o daughter tonight. (Of course, Mommy drives one too.)

BTW, isn't she old enough to take rides with the top down? Hope so, because I was taking my daughter in the Boxster S, top down, when she was 1.

OT: My wife and I couldn't figure out where our daughter learned to say a highly articulated "STU-PID" - but finally realized it was from Mommy driving and reacting to "STU-PID" drivers!

She rides with the top down, I have the Porsche Child seat, but I'm more looking forward to when she's 9 or 10.

She says "top down!!" and points to the car... then gets really excited when the top goes up. Man it's a great age.

My little girl will be 4 in two weeks, I have the Porsche child seat and she loves holding in the cabriolet button to put the top up and down. When she sees a sporty car in traffic (anything from a Miata to an SLK), she says "look daddy... a por-sha!"

My wife get's especially worked up when my daughter kisses the Porsche badge on the front trunk hood. Ahhh dads and their precious little ones!

A favorite bumper sticker I saw long ago," Life's too short to drive a Chevy." I'm sure it was directed at Ford drivers. I like some GM products so let's change it to, "Life's too short to not drive a Porsche."

i think the more important question is: why wouldn't one have a Porsche?

That's classic! My wife drives a Lexus RX-330 and I'm teaching my daughter to point to the car and say "nice rice mommy", friggin kills me every time.

Be careful, you may find yourself buying mommy a Cayenne Turbo soon if you keep that up!

I tried, she wants no part of it. She's really not a car person, it's just a means to get from point A to point B... but I'm working the angles
