Default Transmission case broke axle side

I got a 911 from Copart and it arrived wth a completely cracked transmission bell housing around it so when I removed it I didn’t have to take any bolts out on engine side. I’m wondering if they did it when they forklift car to move or load it. Copart site said car runs and drives. Anyway, any videos showing removal of this section without have to take transmission completely apart. Retired with time to figure this out with some help. I have transmission out on my tear down table. Thanks

They load and unload from front or rear with long fork loaders. The fuel snd brake lines as well as the undercarriage shields are what they usually crush. Every car I have ever gotten from copart or any salvage yard has damage underneath, some severe. I would guess this damage is from the wreck, runs snd drives means it starts and moves an inch. Copart is caveat emptor at its best.

Wow!... JB Weld?... Sorry, I couldn’t help myself
Hopefully, you got the car at a price where getting a good used transaxle isn’t too painful, and you’ll (the car) be whole again. It sounds like you’ve got the ability to put everything back together again, so good luck with that - I’ll bet you can’t wait to drive it!

I cleared my pm's and commented in your other thread. My trans is still available but i understand fixing broken stuff. I love taking things apart and putting them back together.

Sorry i have never gone through a 996 trans but there r a few threads i have seen in the past of people swapping the main shaft bearings. Maybe search 4 them?

Thanks. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Being retired gives me the time to research for methods and solutions.
