I'm considering using either Seafoam or CRC GDI on my '03 C2 with 60K miles.
If folks here have used an intake valve cleaner product, please let me know your results, and what product you would suggest. Additionally, I've heard these products can damage the catalytic converter. Any truth to that?
Why do you need an in intake valve cleaner?
Since our cars are port fuel injection, the injected fuel keeps the intake injectors pretty clean.
This is one of mine at 105k miles.
That said, I'm on the edge of my ignorance, so maybe I should be doing something else.

You are correct, sir. Some research informs me that the 996 is not DFI, something I should've checked before posting.
That being said - is there any reason to use something like Seafoam or CRC in our cars? I read a claim in another thread that valve train noise was reduced after such a treatment.
I’ve used sea foam in many car even my 996 without any effects
there is a jack raby video explanation on maf cleaning
No good effects, or no bad effects?
I have used Sea Foam on my Subarus to great effect. I run a can through them every year and there is a noticeable change in how they run, even though they are port injected as well.

There are two forms of sea foam -- one is a fuel additive that you pour into the gas tank before filling up. The other form is the spray Sea Foam that is sprayed into the intake while the engine is running. I've used the gas additive with good results, never used the spray intake stuff.
For the benefit of discussion, it's helpful if posters can clarify whether they are talking about the gas additive or the spray Sea Foam.
Jdbornem, your intakes look pretty clean. How many miles?
interesting to see your valves as i just scoped mine last week. 100k on the engine. Cylinder #2

Scoped at about 105k when I replaced the injectors. They all looked pretty much the same.
