Dear Friends

I have a 2000 996 and the passenger side rear connector on the engine bay area have a broken wire ( brown/orangish with a red strip and black rings)
So, does anybody knows what's its function? Or have a wiring scheme for this car that I can try to look out for?

I have a 2002 C2. Hard to tell by the close-up, but there are similar wires/bundles feeding the spoiler, fan and strip tail light (on spoiler) on my car. Also, I have one connector hanging off the fan connection that goes nowhere (brown and red/blue wires), just hangs there in space. I have not yet found a wiring diagram for these but would like to.

That sounds like your engine compartment light might be unplugged. Does it look like this? It's hard to tell in my crappy pic but the wires on my '99 are red/blue and brown/red.

Wires are red/blue stripe and brown/orange stripe but there is no light to be found. I always wondered why Porsche did not put a light above the engine. Where does the light fit? Previos owner must have removed it.

A Bently manual will have the diagrams if i remember tonight i will try to look it up 4 u.

It's in the fan housing. The bulb/lens assembly snaps into the rectangular opening. IIRC, it was under $10.00 from Sunset.

that kinda looks like rodent damage....
i'd do a lot of checking... they like the area under the intake manifold for a nest.
