Arrow Model Year?

Probably a dumb question-- what month does the MY change to the next year? e.g. - a 10/99 manufacturing date sells as a 2000 MY.

My '04 Targa has a early build date of June 18, 2003. I think the new year models release around September, and obviously the initial releases need to be built several months before that. Although the dates may have changed since then, when I got my '97 Targa in September, 1996, I remember it was literally the first 1997 911 any dealer in Southern California had (don't know when it was built). When the car doesn't really change (i.e. 2003 vs. 2004 996), its pretty much just a fiction based on the year it was released for, but the factory sticker would show the correct MY.

I think occasionally a new series 911 production may start before the August Holiday. I believe the 1995 993 began earlier than Sept 94; and I believe the 99 996 began production in April-May 98.
