I know you closed the thread 'cause you don't like notoriety, but...you and Jen are the "high test" fuel that runs this "engine", so hats off to both of you for dedicating a great portion of your lives in the past few years to make this Forum what it is! GO RENNLIST!

Way to go, Thanks - John and Jen; extremely appreciated.

Additionally, have you noticed how civilized this thread has become? It's real nice.

Hey - My thanks Don - and to all...!!!!

If you don't mind - I just posted a reply to a similiar thread on the 993 Forum - so to all of you - here is that reply - sent along with my sincerest thanks again....

Shoot – thanks folks…

Honestly – I closed the announcement thread so that folks wouldn’t feel obligated to reply. So, to see a spontaneous thread like this – well – “thank you”… I know you’ve heard it before if you’ve been on Rennlist for more then a week, but this site is NOT about Jen or myself – it’s about the thousands of folks that stop by each and every day. Heck I didn’t make over 1,100,000+ posts – folks like you did. While that's in 3 short years – yep – I guess it is a little mind boggling or daunting – I’m not sure which. But for that, our thanks. To each and every one of you…

As well, because I closed the thread – I’ll share with you some snippets (and paraphrases) of comments I’ve gotten in PMs and e-mails– I think you’ll enjoy them…..

John, I’m sending a present to you – and a picture of it is in this thread…

Gee – thanks… I always wanted a pair of upright hood shocks…..

I noticed Phil listed as a member of BETA Test team – I’m surprised that the Rennlist Forums ever went live…
That’s a good point. I had to make some modifications I’m not allowed to talk about. For the record, I used TOTALLY STOCK software

In three years – who many have ever actually been “banned”?
Always one fewer then I wanted. Have a problem with that???

The real answer is 14 in three years. They all know “why”. In only a few cases, are they silly enough to “try to post” again under an "alais" (it's a HOT BUTTON of mine! ). Most folks I ban I let back on after a “waiting period” – unless they tried to register/post as another “alais”.
~~
How do I become a “Lifetime Member” – I don’t see it as a purchase option?
Hmmm – OK – Lifers are sort of “special”. Sort of what Rennlist is about, I guess. In short – “Lifetime Members” have done something – or effected a Rennlister in a very positive way, and expect nothing in return. I’ve awarded “Lifetime” memberships to folks that have held a “Rennlist Gathering” and welcomed hundreds of folks into their homes. As well – for folks that may need something, and these folks step forward – in public or private and say “I can do that for you” – and they do. Others have built their sites “because of” Rennlist, like Matt or the Kansas City Wrenching Society – and they have the same vision of what an enthusiast site is all about.

So – for all that – I guess I have a difficult time assigning a value to a Lifetime Membership – as it’s one of the only ways Jen or myself can recognize in some way – those who are special.

Dear Mr. D. sorry i don’t know youre last name. i am 14 and have a deal with my dad that i can buy a porsche and he and I will fix it up in time for my license. i can’t pay for a membership yet, so i shouldnot send this too you probably. i wanted to say thank you for the rennlist and visit it every day when i am in class (even though i am not allowed to in computer lab) and when i come home. i have posted only a couple of times but mostly just read (snip by John D.).... i thinkwill be looking for a 944 to fix up this fall after saveing some mony from my summer job for one. Thank you (name deleted by John D.)
This young gentleman is now a Member. His comment “is” what Rennlist is all about...

As are all of yours...

So again – my thanks for this post, this thread – and for all you folks do...
