Angry $450 for an alignment??!?!?!

Brought the car in for the dealer to see why the front end feels kinda squirmy/suirrelly over rough pavement. (I just changed wheels from 18" turbos with snow tires to 18" carreras with Pirellis. No squirm with winter setup) Told them to check the alignment (as per suggestions of board members). They told me if they have to align all wheels it will cost $450. Is it me, or is that INSANE!?!?

Anyone in NYC area know of a dealership that has normal prices? I took it to South Shore Porsche on L.I., since its near my parents house.

01 C4 CAB NYC. I was beginning to think I was the only one who pays too much. I had four tires (I purchased from Tire Rack) mounted, balanced and a four wheel alignment for $250.00. In NC for comparison.

ARGH!!! They aren't doing SQUAT with mounting or balancing! The tires are on the rims, and they are balanced and on the car... Bastids... I told them to call me before they do anything. So if it needs an alignment I'll see if they'll come down in price...

01 C4 Cab NYC - you may want to check out Paul Miller Porsche @ Parsippany NJ - there service is very good, the only negative is they don't offer a loaner if you did not buy the car from them - but as far as their service fees there not a rip off.

My dealer charges $225 (minus 10% PCA discount), so right at $200.

Bastids is right!! We pay approximately $250 ($125 front/back) That is insanely expensive...I guess it goes to pay for their crack habit...geez!

For $450 they should be corner balancing and do the kinematic adjustment.

Try www.eurotire.com in Fairfield, NJ, about a half hour west of Manhattan on Rte 46E. They know Porsches, and do corner balancing too.
