Default Thoughts on chip tuning

I am interested in a simple, safe way for HP bump for my 1999 C4. I ran across this product and I am interested in thoughts on how it will change the car and the inherent risks. I like that the car remains stock and admit that may not do much, but compared to IPD plenums and cool air intakes, the price/performance ratio seems acceptable. The torque curve boost seems impressive.

Again, I would love opinions from people who know this platform and can speak to the risks. (hopefully, I am talking to you, Jake)

Not really worth it, money better spent elsewhere. Correct me if I am wrong.
