Seriously? Uh... NO! It'll probably only cost you $200 or so to refinish - the only potential problem being that the refinished wheel looks better (or slightly different) than the other three...Just DO IT !
Refinishing is probably the better choice since you know the wheel does not leak air, is straight and true and it coat less. May have to refinish the other wheel on that side of the car to get the color to match. Try to avoid disassembling the wheel as it may leak after assembly. Be sure the correct Porsche silver metallic is used, which may be 61M.
I had mine refinished and insisted they be disassembled to be done properly (not masked and painted). They can't leak. They aren't 3 piece wheels. They are 2 piece and the bolts just hold the face of the wheel to the one piece rim.
BTW, the first place I took them refused to disassemble due to leakage liability. They made the same mistake - because they do appear to be made like a 3 piece wheel.
^^^ To be done properly, they need to be disassembled - If the shop doesn't know that, take it to another shop - any shop worth it's salt knows how to deal with these BBS wheels (and has probably done many, many others)...
yes, it is a two piece rim and leaks are not a problem. These are not the most desirable rims but I'd like to stick with them. The clear coat is starting to fail.
I am getting all four of the exact same wheels refinished next week (a bit of corrosion on the polished lips and mirror face damage). Can anyone confirm that the paint colour forifor these rims is Silver Metallic 61M? I sent pictures to the refinisher and he thought they might be hypersilver but he wasn't sure. I bet as soon as he sees them in person he will know the exact colour but it would be good to have beforehand. Thanks in advance.

Haha. Yes, you would think. When they are refinished do they reproduce the machined appearance on the lip?
