Hey everyone, so I have my car for less then a year. The coolant level is about an inch below minimum, color looks green. Not sure what it is what the previous owner put in it. I bought it through Porsche, they knew the owner but when I called to find out info they don’t recall touching the coolant. An Indy shop near me said just add some Porsche coolant to top it off since it’s not that much, I’ve also read maybe just distilled water to top it off.. it is summer so I can see the argument for distilled water but not really sure what to do, would like to avoid flushing the system for that much coolant. Any thoughts ? Owner of that Indy shop also said don’t worry that much about gelling. So not sure. Thanks

Distilled may be fine for a summer top off. Lots of coolant opinions here. More importantly, keep an eye on the level. If level continues to drop after top off the tank may have a slow leak. Our tanks are notorious for splitting at the seam over time. The slow leak can become a big leak with summer heat. If you can smell coolant after a drive chances are there is a leak somewhere.

You may want to flush it when you get around to it. It shouldn't be green. Yellow or Pink. or Orange-ish if the Yellow and pink were mixed, which is fine.

Ya I’ll have to take a better look at it tomorrow, maybe the lighting in the garage. I guess distilled water to top it off and flush when I have the time
