Dedicated Track Car Roller
I know its off topic but i very much respect the collective wisdom on this thread. Local friend has a 2007 Cayman S dedicated track car that just became a roller. Might try to list it on BaT. Curious what everyone thinks its worth as it sits. Here’s info i have:
The good stuff:
-Sparco EVO II US Seats with Schroth 6 point harnesses.
-Sparco quick release steering wheel.
-Heigo Roll bar
-Accusump with electronic oil pressure valve
-Power steering cooler
-Porsche Motorsports air oil separator
-Elephant racing lower control arms (to add camber)
-Bilstein PSS9 coilover suspension
-Borla exhaust
The bad stuff:
-wrist pin failure caused catastrophic engine damage.

Not really versed in those motors but arent they relatively inexpensive. Shouldnt be that bad to fix but would depend on the sale price.
Personally i am not a boxter or cayman fan and would not consider either but to each his own.

I got a chuckle out of Bill's post, too.
The owner of the Cayman has priced it pretty accurately. Might be tough to get it during these unusual times, but $15K is not an unrealistic asking price.
Also i got my 911 areo as a roller with a **** ton of race parts for $4500 so the value of the parts are only worth a fraction of their cost unless u want to spend a lot of time stripping and selling.
as a track car im sure its great, its just not for me.
true; sounds like you got a great deal.
for the car in question, 15K might be just a touch high IMHO but not by much. I'm looking for a Cayman S myself and if it was closer, I'd seriously consider it

@ Joe Mitro Check the PCA ad. He is listing this as a 2007 Cayman S.
PA to OK is not bad even as a roller. I shipped a 996 roller Bay Area to Central Texas and previously an Austin Healey UT to TX. Do your due diligence and you can get an enclosed carrier for a decent price. That should be a fairly well traveled route too.
